Electrical Services

Consumer unit upgrades and replacements, fully certified.

Bring your fuse board up to current 18th Edition standards with RCBO protection on every circuit and a clean, tidy install.

A safer, smarter fuse board for your home.

Your consumer unit is the heart of your home's electrical safety. Older boards with rewireable fuses or basic RCDs can leave whole circuits offline when one tiny fault occurs - and may not meet current regulations. We replace tired units with modern 18th Edition boards that protect every circuit individually.

FAQs

Common questions

How much does a new consumer unit cost?

A like-for-like replacement typically starts from around £550 fully fitted for a standard domestic property. Larger boards, surge protection and additional circuits are quoted on site.

Will my power be off for long?

Most installs are done in 4-6 hours. We isolate the supply, fit the new board, test every circuit and restore power the same day.

Do I have to upgrade if my old board works?

Not always, but if it's a plastic-cased unit, a wooden-backed fuse box, or fails an inspection, an upgrade is strongly recommended for safety and insurance.

Will it be certified?

Yes. We issue a full Electrical Installation Certificate and notify Building Control under Part P at no extra cost.

Can you fit an EV charger or solar at the same time?

Yes - replacing the consumer unit is often the perfect moment to add capacity for an EV charger, solar PV or battery storage.
