FAQs
Common questions
How deep does the cable need to go?
Armoured SWA cable is buried at a minimum of 450mm under paving and 600mm under planted areas, in protective conduit with marker tape.
Do I need a sub-board in the outbuilding?
For anything more than a single light or socket, yes - it's the safest and most compliant approach, and it makes future additions much easier.
Can you do all the trenching?
We can dig short runs ourselves. For longer or harder runs we'll co-ordinate with a landscaper or mini-digger and you only pay one team.
Will I be able to run an EV charger or AC from it?
Yes - we size the submain to your future needs at the planning stage so you don't have to redo cables later.
Will it be certified?
Yes - submains, sub-boards and all new circuits are tested, certified and notified to Building Control under Part P.
