Boiler Upgrade Scheme
Your Guide to the £7,500 Grant in Berkshire, South Oxfordshire, and North Hampshire
What is the Boiler Upgrade Scheme in the UK?
The Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS) is a UK Government initiative launched to encourage the adoption of low-carbon heating systems among homeowners in England and Wales. The scheme forms part of the Heat and Buildings Strategy, with the goal of reducing carbon emissions from UK homes to meet the 2050 net zero targets. The scheme is scheduled to run until 2028, with a budget of £450 million.
How Does the Government Boiler Upgrade Scheme Work?
The Boiler Upgrade Scheme offers a fixed grant of £7,500 to eligible homeowners to install a new air or ground-source heat pump.
This grant is provided directly to the heating engineer as a voucher, which is then deducted from the total installation cost. The scheme operates on a first-come, first-served basis, so early application is advisable.
